Frequently Asked Questions
-
We accept Medicaid, Presbyterian, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Molina, CHAMPVA, and Tricare. If you aren't sure whether we take yours, reach out and we'll help you figure it out. We also see clients who pay out of pocket and can talk through rates when you contact us.
-
Yes. All of our services are available via telehealth to anyone residing in New Mexico. Most clients find it just as effective as in-person, and for many people it's the only option that actually works with their schedule or location.
-
Reach out through our contact page and we'll get back to you to learn a little about what you're looking for and match you with the right clinician. Or you can schedule a free 15-minute consultation and personally select which therapist you feel is the best fit through our Our Team page.
-
We take the match seriously. When you reach out, we ask a few questions about what you're dealing with and what you're looking for, and we pair you with the clinician whose specialty and style fit best. You're not just getting whoever is available. We also provide an option for you to pick who you feel is the best fit for you through the Our Team page where you can book directly with your clinician of choice.
-
Yes. We work with adolescents ages 13 and up, in addition to adults.
-
Yes. We have a bilingual clinician who provides therapy in both English and Spanish.
-
The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. Your clinician will ask about what brought you in, a little about your history, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. You don't need to have a clear answer to that last one. It's also a chance for you to get a feel for whether it's a good fit.
-
It depends on what you're working on. Some people come in for a specific issue and wrap up in a few months. Others are working through something longer term, such as trauma and may take longer to process it. Your clinician will talk with you about what to expect based on your goals.
-
That's actually one of the most common things we hear. A bad fit, the wrong approach, or a clinician who didn't really get your experience can make therapy feel useless. It doesn't mean therapy doesn't work for you. It might just mean you haven't found the right match yet.
-
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential with a few legal exceptions, which your clinician will explain in your first session. We take privacy seriously and use a secure, HIPAA-compliant system for all client records and communication.
-
Availability changes. The best way to find out is to reach out directly and we'll let you know what we have open and who might be a good fit. You can also be added to a clinician’s waitlist if they don’t have immediate availability.
