EMDR Therapy

  • EMDR

EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy designed specifically for processing traumatic memories and experiences that haven't fully healed. It's not talk therapy in the traditional sense. Instead of spending years narrating the past, EMDR works with how your brain stores distressing memories and helps it finish processing them.

It sounds unusual, and most people are skeptical at first. But EMDR is one of the most well-researched trauma treatments available. It's recommended by the American Psychological Association and the World Health Organization for trauma and PTSD. The results are often faster and more lasting than people expect.

EMDR may be a good fit if you've been carrying something for a long time, if you've tried other approaches and feel stuck, or if certain memories, triggers, or patterns keep showing up no matter how much work you do. It can also help with anxiety, phobias, grief, and other concerns rooted in painful past experiences.

Our EMDR sessions are led by clinicians who are trained and experienced in the approach. We move at a pace that feels manageable, and we don't push you into anything before you're ready.
